Year 4 - Day 2 - St Augustine to Crescent City

We departed the St Augustine hotel around 8:15 a.m. Temps already warm, in the mid 70 degrees! Partly sunny with light breezes. We rode about 10 miles to the Palatka to Saint Augustine State Trail. This trail is fully paved and about 17 miles long. We got spoiled with not having to ride with traffic!

Later in the day we played hopscotch with Route 17. On it for a few miles, then on side roads, then back on for a half mile, etc.

All in all, a very uneventful day. We experienced several raindrops during the afternoon, but not enough for us to stop and prepare for rain.

We arrived at Crescent Fish Camp in Crescent City around 2:15 p.m. We were greeted by Crystal, the General Manager, a young lady in her 20’s. Our cottage rooms were ready and waiting and she was so pleasant explaining everything to use. A few pictures of the camp and our cottages. The cottages have all been recently remodeled and are very modern. The Camp has nice amenities a pool, corn hole, and other activities to keep families occupied while the husband (or wife) spends time fishing on the lake.

Today’s ride was 57.8 miles with 884 feet of climbing. So far on the ECG we have ridden 2,595.6 miles and climbed a total of 77,319 feet in elevation.

The weather for tomorrow is calling for a low to mid percentage possibility of rain. So we will see!
