Year 3 - Day 7 N. Myrtle Beach SC to Georgetown SC

It’s Sunday. We decided to start just a little later today because it is Sunday and we only have about 65 miles to go! It was warmer today, at 8:30 a.m. it was about 58 degrees.

Today’s ride was very uneventful. No issues, no notable sights to photograph. We spend most of the day playing hopscotch with Route 17. It would have been easier if we had just forged our way down Route 17! But the traffic on Route 17 is busy, fast, and sometimes not courteous!

I have a friend that lives in Myrtle Beach. Last evening he was at a show at the Alabama Center. We were stopped at a red light to enter Route 17 and I noticed the venue dead ahead. Could not resist snapping a quick photo!

We stopped in Garden City for lunch. I did not “pause” my Ride with GPS program. Below is what RWGPS thought I did while sitting at the restaurant!

As a result of this, I am assuming this is what caused this anyway, this is what my final elevation profile looked like for today.  It says I actually spent about half the day 600 feet below sea level. So much for intelligent programs!

We actually rode 66.6 miles with an elevation gain of 774 feet. I borrowed Dan’s RWGPS profiles for our official stats for today below.

Our totals for this trip are 422.6 miles with elevation gain of 9,355 feet. We are half way for this trip. Charleston SC here we come tomorrow.

Our totals for the ECG now stand at 2,037.4 miles and 70,779 feet of elevation gain.
