Year 3 - Day 3 Clayton NC to Fayetteville NC
Departing Clayton this morning we passed this piece of artwork, well I guess some would call it art work!
Today’s ride was mainly on the road versus yesterday's ride which was mainly on trails. We did have a couple trail Emmett’s for about 10 miles total. But even one of the trails today we had to detour on the road due to bridge being out on the trail.
We rode past many peanut fields. I stopped to snap a couple photos of the ripe peanuts.
And Bob snapped a picture of me!
We also are beginning to see cotton fields. I’ll try to get a good cotton field photo before we hit the coast.
Our fine dining experiences today were McDonalds and for dinner Jersey Mikes! We enjoyed some beer in the hotel lobby and also conversation with the bartender, an interesting lady!
Today’s ride was 75.1 miles, 1,985 feet of climbing, and took us 6 hours and 10 minutes. See the route and profile below.
After today’s ride, we have ridden a total of 1,766.5 miles and made 66,758 feet of elevation gain (climbing) on the East Coast Greenway.
